Greenville, SC
The original Parker High School, founded in 1923, today consists of a 5-building campus totaling 150,000 square feet. This Phase 1 project includes necessary refurbishments to the gymnasium, auditorium, classroom building, library/cafeteria building and athletic fields. More comprehensive renovations will take place in Phase 2 as funds become available. The campus will be home to 400 students from grades 5 through 9, with upper grades being added annually. The school will open this August, 2010. The reopening of the historic campus, which had been unoccupied since 2006, is a significant event in the life of the community. The Parker High School Auditorium is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
