Allen Freeman, AIA

Son of the firm's original founder, Allen joined the firm as partner in 1971. Serving as head of design, he meets with clients to develop an understanding of their needs and vision, and translates that into a schematic architectural design. He continues to be intimately involved as the design develops into its finished form, and oversees the construction phase. His expertise and talent have resulted in national, state and regional awards for the firm.

Joel Van Dyke, AIA

Joel joined the firm as a Partner in 2006 through the merger of Van Dyke Design Group with Freeman and Major. Joel had previously served as a partner and director of design in an award winning firm and has significant experience in a wide variety of project types. Joel leads projects with a hands-on, client-focused approach, using hand drawings and digital 3-D modeling to help clients understand and visualize design concepts. Joel has spoken on the subject of Church Facility Planning and Design, and has had work published in several regional magazines. Joel blogs at www.joelvandyke.com

Steve Peckham, AIA

Steve founded Signature Architects, LLC in 1990 to bring a practical, integrated practice approach to a wide variety of clients. He merged his practice with Freeman & Major Architects in 2004 and leads the firm from our Clemson office practicing under the name of Signature Architects.

Douglas Rackley, AIA, LEED AP

Douglas has been with Freeman & Major for over 19 years. As Senior Project Architect, he works alongside the principals in developing projects from initial programming stages through occupancy. His hands-on involvement insures continuity in the project from beginning to end. He meets regularly with clients, consultants and contractors to coordinate information and explore options. He seeks to develop effective strategies to bring successful completion to each project. Douglas is a LEED Accredited Professional and his interest in sustainable design helps the firm to flesh out sustainable initiatives for all our projects.

Robin brings to the firm a unique combination of skills in graphic design, 3D digital modeling and visual arts, which has proven useful on many levels both for the firm and our clients. Her aptitude for the many aspects of the profession makes her a valuable resource to the principals and project architects with whom she works.

Scott Grzybowski, CDT

Scott's high level of experience with the development of construction documents makes him a great asset to the Freeman & Major team. His proficiency with documentation, coordination and building code analysis enables him to work directly with the principal and project architect to accurately and efficiently develop quality documents for construction.

Jane Lynch

Jane's bright personality brings a welcome element of hospitality to our clients, while her organization and skillful management keep our office running smoothly. Jane manages correspondence, handles accounts, and assists in research, marketing material preparation and proposals. She is essential to the success and productivity of the whole team.
